Tips How To Work More Efficiently

Ever wish the day was longer? In today’s society we are expected to do more and more, and no one is giving us extra time to do so. These are few tips which may help us to save hours each and every week. They are easy to implement and will help you put all your energy into the right tasks.

1. Plan Your Week
Every minute spent on planning saves 10 minutes in execution, and we all know it is true. If you are prepared to know exactly what needs to be done, how to handle unexpected situations and what to do first, you will be lot more efficient. Allocate more time for important tasks in completing your weekly plan.

2. Batch Your Activities
Group and consolidate your routine activities. Spend your precious time on most critical and strategic work. You do not have all the time in the world to focus on those routine work and those repetitive tasks can be outsourced to another party.

3. When At Work, Work!
One problem we all have is that we don’t like to do same routine work (usually). Whenever a chance to procrastinate the routine work, we are glad to put it away. Often we will have a quick coffee break, and before you know it you have lost 30 minutes of your work day. So when at work, work! Do everything you need to do during the day and again focus to complete the important task.

4. Focus Your Energy on Most Important Activities
The much quoted 80/20 rule states that 80% of the value you create in a day will come from 20% of the activities you perform. Meaning if you focus your energy to complete those 20% you will have done much, much more than if you complete all the rest. Therefore go through all the activities you perform and see which ones are most important. Find ways to focus more time and energy on important activities.

5. Prioritise and Outsource
Prepare a list of priority that you need to complete for the day. Give your utmost focus on the prioritized list. Outsource routine and repetitive tasks to other party – Shared Services Centrewithin your organization.
In order to work more efficient, Shared Services plays an important role. Shared Services is a service unit that enables your organization to simplify and thus achieving greater economies of scales in performing your internal processes.

Shared Services enables your organisation to:

1. Consolidate efforts – to deliver same services to different companies within a Group – increase efficiency, quality and competence.
2. Be more commercial orientated – individually you can focus on strategic matters and daily routine/repetitive works can be outsourced to the Shared Services Centre.
3. Cost reduction – helps to reduce your costs via economies of scale. Shared Services will drive efficient and effective processes in order to reach operational excellence.

In conclusion, there are tremendous amounts of benefits can be gained from Shared Services. The idea of consolidating routine, scalable tasks at Shared Services Centre will be realized with understanding and cooperation from various parties…. including you J
